Vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooooom!

Every year on Easter Sunday around 4,000 bikers go on a fun run to bring Easter eggs to Yorkhill Childrens hostpital. They do a circuit round the city centre and back out to the West End, and in doing so go right past my front door. It's my unofficial Easter tradition to hang out the window or sit on the front step and watch.

Today it took half an hour for the whole lot to go past. I'm sure it was longer last year, and the costumes were better last year. I didn't see too many folk dressed up, though there were the usual complement of Easter bunnies, Scooby Doos and Supermen. There was also a Marge Simpson with her helmet cleverly augmented into the famous blue beehive.

There's nothing quite like the noise, and the smell, of 4,000 bikes revving their engines outside your front house. I never get drunk on the Easter Saturday night purely to avoid a hangover like a bat out of hell!
