Miss Peggy Lee - in love again!

I found this while browsing through piles of old posters and photos. I bought this around 1994 - it actually contained the LP of I'm A Woman. I used to have the sleeve on my wall as it was such a fab picture and even took it to Toronto where I spent the summer of 1995. I suppose it was something of an inspiration for Miss Leggy Pee.

Burlescapades

The Assembly Rooms in preparation for Burlescapades- probably one of the most sumptuous venues I've performed at. A close second to the British Legion in Lerwick, Shetland Isles.

Cool

Enjoyed a weekend gigging with Mischief as The Snow Queen, in the run up to Christmas. Any job where you get to dress up in fur, white greasepaint and glittery make up, and tell lots of kids and parents that you play golf with Santa, can't be at all bad.

Stick the kettle on then

Obscene consumerism or a thing of strange beauty? Several hundred kettles at Tesco await good homes and loving owners.

Christmas Past

On my way out today, I pulled out my bus ticket from my handbag and found this ticket from exactly three years ago to the day. We only went because one of our favourite bands, Hoboken, were supporting them on their tour. It was a great gig, at least until the Human League came on...!

Cross cultural charcuterie

After a mammoth 7 hours studying today, I treated myself to a trip to the big-and-getting-bigger Tesco at Springburn. While in the cooked meats aisle hunting out a bit of chorizo for my better half's next culinary exploit, I stumbled upon this delightful testament to Scotland's diverse population and their respective meaty treats. The Scotch Pie side by side with Polish sausage. Nice to see they included some macaroni pies to keep the veggies on side.

Dress me up

Having fun with the Miss Leggy Pee dressing up doll. I like the 'forgot my blouse' look.

The View as I see it

This band somehow inspire absolute dedicated mania in an audience that seemed to consist mostly of dodgy looking blokes whose vocabulary extends only to the phrase "the View, the View, the View are on Fire". I didn't get it myself, but then I'm not a thug from Dundee...

Pint of Tennant's and a saucer of milk please.

Holy Ghost Revival part 2

Evening at Tut's courtesy of Justin and the HGR, who I'm chuffed to be performin alongside at Kunst later this month. We might even stick around for The View.

Another Burlesque night, i got to stage manage this one so got some great views from backstage. Pictured is Hettie Heartache, in the midst of a lovely fan dance.

Girls Best Friend

... as seen at Rockaburley, a most excellent evening combining rockabilly and burlesque. Sadly, I got no pics of the show itself. Anyway, am in the mood for blogging tonight. So we'll see what comes to pass.

Bloody luxury

Last night on the road. We invested in a rather grand B&B room. The enquite included a jacuzzi bath and shower which made up for the 'waters' of Strathpeffer. There was also a fridge - big enough for more than one bottle of wine - and a washing machine, presumably for freshening up ones jodphurs or plus fours. Jolly good, what?

Like a true townie, i'm agog at any upclose glimpse of 'nehchur'

Rogie Falls

Lovely unspoiled beach no 2

This beach was even less spoiled than the other one because it was an hours hike down a path not shown on most maps. And an hour back again. Proper remote, likes.

Lovely unspoiled beach no 1

At a secret location up north. If I specified where it was, everyone would go, they'd bring in chip vans and ice cream vans and build an amusement arcade. So let's keep it unspoiled.

Plants and that.

Gruinard Bay

At the ruined chapel of Sand Udrigle, looking out towards Gruinard Island where anthrax was first tested in the early 1940s. They didn't decontaminate the island until 1990.
