Le mars frites

Mes amis de Paris, Guilain et Mathieu, aiment beaucoup un deep fried Mars Bar au Kings Cafe de Elmbank Street, Glesga. Delicieux!

B&B

Up north for a day or two. Just checked into a B&B and met this lady in the bathroom.

Back in Glasgow

Stayed up till 5 last night at the usual post-Candy gathering, and figured there wasn't much point in sleeping before my 9am train home. 4 hours later and I'm back in sunny Glesga, as if it was all some bizarre dream.

I'm missing the Candy brunch gathering in order to get my toilet trouble sorted out. And then i'll get the plumber in!

Hurst St skyline

This is probably my most familiar view of Birmingham- half way between the station and the Glee Club. It sums up what the city has to offer in 2008- sophisticated yuppie living amidst shabby but strangely cool 1960s concrete and delapidated brick terraces- all conveniently located for halal chip shops.

I love Birmingham!

Storm In A Teacup

Another backstage view of Candy Box. This was one of the most incredible props I'd ever seen- a six foot in diameter tea cup and saucer, containing performer Honey Lulu, two lumps of sugar and a good spot of cool fresh milk.

Knobbly Knees Competition

The Palookaville band get their trousers up for a bit of holiday camp fun. I have no idea why there are a pair of boobs in a sparkly bra in the line up.

Behind the scenes at Candy Box

View of the band from behind the big twinkly curtain thing [I know it's called a starcloth but I prefer to pretend to be immune from insider information]
